Paneer Butter Masala Recipe

 

 Ingredients

  • 200–250 g paneer (cubed)

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 2 tomatoes (puree)

  • 1 onion (finely chopped)

  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1 tsp red chilli powder

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • 2 tbsp fresh cream

  • 1 tsp kasuri methi (dry fenugreek)

  • Salt (as per taste)

  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)

  • Fresh coriander leaves

 Cooking Steps

1️⃣ Prepare the Masala

  1. Heat butter + oil in a pan.

  2. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden.

  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1 minute.

2️⃣ Make the Gravy

  1. Add tomato puree.

  2. Cook for 5–7 minutes until oil separates.

  3. Add turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder, and salt.

3️⃣ Add Paneer

  1. Add paneer cubes to the gravy.

  2. Add ½ cup water and cook for 3–4 minutes.

4️⃣ Finish the Dish

  1. Add cream, garam masala, and crushed kasuri methi.

  2. Mix gently and cook 1–2 minutes.

Serving

Serve hot with:

  • Butter naan

  • Tandoori roti

  • Jeera rice

Garnish with cream and coriander leaves.

Tip (Restaurant Style):
Add 1 tsp honey or sugar + extra butter at the end for the classic sweet creamy taste.
